VSCC host event to celebrate Women’s Suffrage anniversary

Volunteer State Community College will be screening the documentary “By One Vote: Woman Suffrage in the South”, featuring Dr. Carole Bucy, via Zoom on, Sept. 9 and 10. 

“With this screening, we celebrate the 100th anniversary of the passage of the Nineteenth Amendment and the deciding vote for ratification residing with the state of Tennessee” says Lori Miller, administrative assistant of Volunteer State Diversity and Inclusion Department. 

Narrated by Rosanne Cash, this documentary is packed full of information chronicling the events leading up to the nail-biting showdown on Aug. 18,1920. 

VSCC History Professor, Dr. Carole Bucy will host a question and answer session following the event.
