Volunteer State Community College will host the Pet Therapy Stress Buster event on campus April 29 and 30, from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m.

Pets and their owners, from Music City Pet Partners, will be at the Rochelle Center Thigpen Library for students to take a break from school.

Coordinator of Library Services Lynda Vincent said, “We call it a stressbuster to help students get rid of their stress. We try to do it each semester at finals time.”

It was started in the fall of 2014 when Sarah Smith came to Vol State.

Students, teachers and staff are welcomed to attend the event.

“There is usually a good turnout at this event,” said Vincent.

Student Engagement and Support will supply refreshments during the event.

According to musiccitypetpartners.org, “The Music City Pet Partners’ mission is to promote well-being, provide companionship and educate our community by training and supporting volunteer therapy animal teams.”

Vincent said to look out for Tashi and his owner Debbie. They come to the VSCC event regularly.
