It is that time in the semester when students might feel overwhelmed with projects, essays, and finals. Do not forget to still make mental and physical health a priority: go for a walk!
The simplest exercise is walking. You do not need a gym membership, tutorials, at-home equipment, etc. Simply get outside and enjoy some fresh air.
If you would like to go for a walk in a place that is not your neighborhood or road, then you are in luck because there are several options close to Vol State for students to utilize.
Staying as local as possible, Vol States fitness trail consists of a mulched walkway that runs from the Tennis Courts and along the creek on the backside of the college.
Outside of Vol State, The White House Park has a trail that is about one mile. The walk is mostly wooded, however it is not entirely isolated as you are still at a city park.
A beautiful and relatively easy walking trail is the Station Camp Greenway walking trail. This particular trail is ten minutes from Vol State. It spans four miles total and takes an average of one hour and nine minutes to complete.
Bledsoe Creek State Park is an excellent walking trail choice in Gallatin. There are several different paths to take that have different levels of difficulty and distances. Click here if you would like to look at the different trails.
Getting out and going for a walk is so important for a number of reasons.
