On March 23rd and 24th at Volunteer State Community College will host Health Sciences Discovery Days from 10 am-2 pm both in person at the Wallace South Building or on Zoom. Attending this event will have students, “Learn about the MANY Health Science programs available to you at Vol State,” “Tour Health Science labs and see the equipment in use,” and “Learn about a profession you don’t know about and develop a back-up plan for your future,” According to the Volunteer State website.
In the Health Science division, there are eleven different programs where students can obtain a variety of different degrees and certificates that will help you learn how to take care of members of our community and to be contributing members of society.
“On March the 23rd and March the 24th we are having our second annual Discovery Days. During Discovery Days, anybody who may be interested in health care or curious about what different career fields do as a profession are invited to participate. It will be from 10 am-2 pm; you can go face to face and visit some of the programs. If you’re not able to come to campus that day, you can log onto the programs that you are interested in via Zoom and you can learn more information in a virtual format. Plus, a $500 tuition voucher will be given to a lucky attendee.” Said Kim Christmon, Dean of Health Sciences Division.
“Some of the programs (present) will be family technician, respiratory care, technology, medical lab technology, dental assisting, emergency medicine, fire science. Also, Ultrasonography, Radio logic technology, Sleep technology and health information technology.” Said Kim Christmon.
“Our mission is students first and we are here to help you reach your goals.” Said Kim Christmon, Dean of Health Sciences Division.
