Volunteer State Community College will be hosting the Spring Fling Service Fair on Wed, April 13 from 11a.m.- 1 p.m. There will be lawn games, giveaways, and free lunch (while supplies last)!
The event will take place by the library lawn at the Gallatin Campus weather permitting.
The Service Fair will also be taking place on the Livingston campus as well in room 102.
Clubs and organizations that will be in attendance are the Student Government Association (SGA), the Campus Activity Board (CAB), Phi Theta Kappa (PTK), Black Student Association (BSA), the Volunteer Club, and the Fit Club.
SGA will be conducting the giveaways for students while CAB will be working with a vendor for DIY Terrariums for the Earth Day component.
Vol State Cybersecurity Club will also have a table with information about steps to increase your cyber security.
“Lawn games from Games to Go Nashville- giant jenga, giant checkers, and giant connect four.” Said Angel Dunning, an Administrative Assistant for Student Engagement and Support.
“Lunch is pizza from Papa Johns,” said Dunning.
“The goal of the Service Fair is to highlight health and wellness resources for people and planet, bridge classroom learning and service opportunities, and strengthen community partnerships,” said Kelly Ormsby, an English faculty member of the Division of Humanities.
“This fair will be an opportunity for our students to showcase their service-learning projects and share their knowledge and skills with us,” said Ormsby
There will also a mental health career panel from 1:15- 2:15 p.m.
“The panel will be an opportunity for students to ask about working in the field of mental health. The panel will feature several different mental health professionals including social workers, professional counselors, marriage and family therapists, etc.” said Dr. Krista Mazza Carter, Associate Professor of Psychology at Vol State.
Students can also attend the panel via Zoom.
