Around our very own Vol State campus, there are quite a few resources available to students to improve academics, however, that is not the only focus that our school cares about for its students.
Hosted in the Thigpen Library, there are going to be two movie nights this month, September 12th, from 5 pm to 7 pm, and September 27th, from 7:30 pm to 9:30 pm, showing Inside Out and Inside Out 2. With the addition of the free viewings of these popular movies, there is free pizza and popcorn provided (while it lasts). They also encourage bringing family and friends, but students could go alone and meet others they have never even seen before.
This type of event is good for incentivizing socialization among peers and allows for a mental break in the school year when it is well known that the work put in by students can be quite taxing. Adding breaks that feel like rewards throughout the year helps students get through the year without as much weight holding them down, giving these relaxation times helps take a bit of the load off. The students can be grateful for these little helping hands given by the school and clubs every now and then because, in the long run, it is all for the students’ benefit.
