Volunteer State Community College’s Office of Student Engagement and Support will be hosting a job fair Monday, Nov. 15 through Thursday, Nov. 18. There are estimated to be a total of 21 employers from a variety of industries.

Students exploring employment options are encouraged to attend so that they may ask questions and apply for jobs. According to the flyer posted in the Wood Campus building, representatives from the following companies will be present on the corresponding days.

The “Just In Time Job Fair” is an event organized specifically for students who are looking to be in the workforce. Part-time and full-time positions will be available. Students are encouraged to prepare for this event by bringing questions regarding bonus pays, insurance and any additional benefits. Jobs ranging from retail, food service, daycare and the army will have an appearance.

The event will take place from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. each day. Their tables will be set up in the Gallatin Wood Campus Center hallway across from the Vol State Grill.

Heather Harper, the event coordinator and manager of Student Engagement and Support, spoke on ways the job fair may benefit students.

“The Just in Time Job Fair’s main purpose is to not only assist our employers with much needed employment needs for their companies, it’s also a time to provide opportunities for students to either change jobs, obtain a new job, look for other opportunities outside what they may be exposed to traditionally,” she said.

The Office of Student Engagement and Support has also organized a hub for semester-long job opportunity updates. According to the invitation email sent to students, The Hire Hub is an “internal job posting opportunity for students.” The hub is accessible through the registration link.
