Volunteer State Community College sophomore, Bailey Guy, was crowned the winner of the USA National Miss Teen 2021 on July 10 in Orlando, Florida.
Guy has been involved in the Hendersonville community in the past. According to the Hendersonville Standard, she founded the “Be a Reader, Be a Leader” program to “promote literacy and youth leadership.”
Guy is also active on Instagram. Her personal Instagram handle is @baileygguy. Since winning the title, Guy also posts on the USA National Teen Instagram, @usanationalteen.
“I have been competing in pageants since I was 5. My first pageant was the Sumner County Fairest of the Fair, and I got first runner-up that year,” Guy said.
According to Angelopedia, one of her more recent competitions was Miss Tennessee Teen USA 2019.
“The most difficult part of pageants is the pressure. Pageant girls tend to put a lot of pressure on themselves and hold themselves to a standard of perfection, which is honestly unattainable,” Guy said.
“My advice to other girls is to not let someone else’s opinion of them define them. I’m not defined by my failures or successes. I have a national title now, but I’m still the same Bailey I was before that. Decide who you are, decide who you want to be, and work to make it happen. The world’s opinion doesn’t matter,” said Guy.
