Cafeteria Grand Opening

By Abigail Vaughn

The Vol State cafeteria, which has been open for a little over a month now is holding an official grand opening on March 21 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Wood Campus Center.

The cafeteria will be offering free dessert while supplies last. There will be a live DJ, giveaways, free tacos, and Vol State tote bags. They will be offering hot dogs with chips and a drink for $7 and Hamburgers with chips and a drink for $10, said an email from student engagement.

The cafeteria is now offering specials for Vol State Students, on Tuesdays and Wednesdays students can get $10 meals but they must have their student IDs with them.

Since the cafeteria has been open for a month now, Carolyn Reed, the owner of C and G Fine Foods, wants students to know if there is anything they would like her to change or add to the menus including different foods or drinks to let her know. She would like to emphasize her commitment to improving the cafeteria for the students here at Vol State.

“I’m incredibly grateful to be here at Vol State and for the support I’ve gotten from the students here. I’m here to serve you guys. So, if there’s any kind of way, I can make it better or make it work for you guys that’s what I want to do. If there’s something that I don’t have, let me know and I’ll make it happen,” said Carolyn Reed.

“It’s an honor and a privilege to be able to serve you all. I’m really enjoying my time here and I hope that it extends for a long time,” Reed continued.

The cafeteria offers a different special each day, which you can find here.
