Club Kickoff Event Runs Smoothly Despite Weather Delays

By: B Mack Evans

Despite freezing rain and snow, this year’s club kickoff still occurred virtually and helped many clubs fill requirements.

Six clubs have already met their roster requirements including; Black Student Association, Fit Club, National Society of Leadership and Success, Philosophy club, Phi Theta Kappa and Volunteer Club

“We have four new clubs that submitted paperwork: Computer Information Technology Ed (CITE) club, Pioneer Podcasting Club, and two clubs at the Cookeville campus- Art Club and Gaming Club,” said Tabitha Sherrell, Coordinator of Student Activities.

These clubs have not yet met their rosters.

The Future Educators club is also very close to meeting the requirement of 10 interested students – they currently have seven.

If students missed the signup email, it’s not too late to join! Interested Students can still sign up for any of Vol States clubs, there is no deadline; simply scan the QR code for the signup form.

Clubs are still planning events for the semester “Each of the clubs fills out a Semester Action Plan to submit to the Student Engagement & Support Office with the events that the club plans to host, as well as, community service the club plans to participate in. Those plans are not due until the end of February to give clubs a chance to meet and plan the semester.” Explained Sherrell.

Many clubs still have Leadership positions available and students who act swiftly may be able to help with their club’s Action Plan.
