Over 70 discounts await Vol State students

There are over 70 discounts available to Volunteer State Community College students.

On the Vol State student discounts site, students can find the complete list and details of the various discounts. Students must show a valid Vol State ID to receive the discounts, according to the site.

“Saving is the first major step to ensure financial security. And the earlier you start, the more your savings count,” said Amanda Mier of CNBC News.

Most discounts offers range from 10 percent -25 percent at multiple restaurants and service companies in Gallatin and nearby cities across Middle Tennessee.

Discounts are closer than you may think. Students can stop by El Cantarito Mexican Grill, located right across the street from the Gallatin campus, after class and enjoy 10 percent off.

Along with getting 10 percent off at numerous other restaurants such as Arby’s, Baskin Robbins, Dairy Queen, and Pizza Hut, students can also receive even more savings at Jersey Mike’s where the deal is $6.99 for a regular sub, chips, and 22 oz drink (Valid on Monday’s in Gallatin and
Thursday’s in Cookeville).

Vol State Sophomore Matthew Enoch recently saved $2.50 at Brixx Pizza.

“It’s so important to save money in college when you’re on a budget and can’t work all the time since you have class,” he said.

Dining is not the only service students can enjoy at a lower price. Students can also cash in on 25 percent off at AVIS Car Rental, 40 percent off hotels at Booking.com, $5 off at Brown’s Florist, and 10 percent off any salon service at enVme Hair Studio.

Numerous gym memberships are also offered at F45 Training, Gold’s Gym, CycleBar, Workout Anytime, and Putnam County YMCA. Feel fit and financially secure by opening a free checking and savings account at First Tennessee Bank or Regions.

Entertainment and experiences are also on the list. Students can enjoy free admission on Thursdays and Fridays from 5-9 p.m. at the Frist Museum in Nashville, 10 percent off general admission to Madame Tussauds wax museum, 20 percent off at the Nashville Opera, and varied discounts to the Nashville Symphony and Third Coast Comedy Club.

Saving money in college just got one step easier.
