Vol State Campus Police Chief resigns

Volunteer State Community College Police Chief Angela Lawson resigned Tuesday, May 30.

In an email to the campus community, Lawson wrote, “After much contemplation and consideration, I have made the difficult decision to resign from my position as Chief of Campus Police.”

Lawson began her career at Vol State in 2013 as the Assistant Chief of Campus Police. She was in that position until 2017 when she was promoted to Chief of Campus Police.

She served as Chief of Campus Police for six years.

She had previously worked for the Metro Nashville Police Department and the Gallatin Police Department before coming to Vol State.

In closing her email, Lawson wrote, “Thank you for allowing me the privilege of serving as your Chief of Campus Police. It has been an honor and a privilege.”
