Every year, Volunteer State Community College hosts an annual job fair. Normally it takes place in the gymnasium on campus, but due to the pandemic, things are going to have to be done a little differently.

During the job fair, the college has many companies in attendance to talk to students about who they are and what they do. This year, they will be meeting students through Zoom. The job fair will begin on Oct. 8, 10 a.m.-1 p.m. The event will also take place on Oct. 13, 4 p.m.-7 p.m., Oct. 19, 1 p.m.-4 p.m. and Nov. 5, 9 a.m.-1 p.m.

This year, there will be companies from different types of job areas such as Gap Inc (business and technology division), Army National Guard (humanities division), ABC Technologies (math and sciences division), TN Department of Correction (social science and education division), and CSL Plasma (nursing division/health sciences) just to name a few.

“All students received an email last Friday with this information with regard to the virtual job fair,” said Heather Harper, manager of student engagement and support.

The email sent will provide the information needed on how to attend the virtual event. If unable to make it to either of the virtual job fairs, send Harper your information and she will connect you with the employers that you would like to talk to.

This is an annual event held by the Office of Student Engagement and Support. If you have any questions about the job fairs, feel free to contact Harper by calling 615-230-3519.
